Refund policy

We hope you are delighted with your purchase from Cherished Jewellery. If you do need to return an item, please read the policy below.

Your right to cancel

If you purchase from us online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery, even if the item is not faulty.

To cancel, you must contact us within 14 days of receiving your item.

Once you have told us you wish to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to return the item to us.

Return conditions

Returned items must be sent back in their original condition, with original packaging where possible.

We ask that items are returned unworn, unaltered, and undamaged. Please take reasonable care of the item while it is in your possession. You may inspect and handle it as you would in a shop, but we may reduce the refund if the item shows signs of use or handling beyond this.

Please contact us through our contact form before returning any item so we can confirm the correct return address.

Return postage

Unless an item is faulty or not as described, the buyer is responsible for return postage costs.

Because we sell valuable jewellery, we strongly recommend using Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery so that your return is properly insured.

Suggested return services:

  • Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery – Small Parcel up to 100g: £8.35, insured up to £750
  • Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery – Small Parcel up to 250g: £19.95, insured up to £2,500

Please note that Royal Mail Tracked services do not provide suitable insurance cover for jewellery.

We also recommend keeping your proof of postage until your return has been received and processed.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will process any refund due to your original payment method.

If you are cancelling within the legal 14-day period, we will refund the price paid for the item and, where applicable, the cost of standard delivery. We do not have to refund any extra amount paid for upgraded or premium delivery services. Refunds are usually processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item back.

Faulty or not as described items

If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please include:

  • your order number
  • a short explanation of the issue
  • clear photos, where possible

Where an item is confirmed to be faulty or not as described, we will work with you to put things right in line with your legal rights. This may include a refund, repair, replacement, or reimbursement of reasonable return postage where appropriate. Customers buying online have statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods, and those rights cannot be taken away by store policy.

Exchanges

Because many of our rings are vintage, antique, and one of a kind, exchanges are not always possible.

If you would like an exchange, please contact us and we will let you know whether a suitable alternative is available. Where an exchange is not possible, an approved return can be refunded and a new order placed for another item, subject to availability.

Sale items

Items purchased on sale have the same legal rights as full-price items. If a sale item is faulty or not as described, you are still entitled to the appropriate remedy.

If a sale item was bought online, your normal cancellation rights still apply unless a lawful exception applies.

Items we cannot accept back

We may refuse a return or reduce the refund where an item has been:

  • altered or resized after purchase
  • damaged after delivery
  • returned in a condition different from how it was sent, beyond what is necessary to inspect it
